Zombie's Retreat 2 v1.0.2 significantly revises several endgame story events, strengthening Meredith's character development and bringing the Fate of Lust and Fate of Passion routes closer together. It also expands Norman's backstory and adds extra dialogue for Norman and Talia. A new Secret Shop provides access to rare cards and the Haunted Manor Key, Meredith's Finale scene can now be replayed after completing the game, and the update includes small bug fixes and a new spoiler option for the Z-Choice menu.

**📖 Story Revisions**
v1.0.2 contains a few significant story revisions to some of the events of the endgame in Zombie's Retreat 2. This section will contain spoilers!
* ⚠️ SPOILER WARING *
**Spoiler**
* During the sequence when Norman tries to enter Meredith's heart, his attempt will now fail. Building upon the strength that Meredith gained having prevented corruption from a zombie once before, her willingness to accept Norman's temptation does not work. Angrily, Norman still takes Meredith to Fortune Tower in an effort to provoke the MC.
* Now, the Z-Choice routes are much more similar. Both the Fate of Lust & Fate of Passion lead to Norman attempting to corrupt Meredith's heart. In the Fate of Lust, he still initiates this with a kiss that catches everyone off guard. In the Fate of Passion, he activates the curse of the zombie touch after grabbing on to her.
* The Fate of Passion now explores Norman's backstory as well. During Norman's backstory, audio during the hallway cutscene is replaced by rain in the Fate of Passion to soften the emotional impact of that event.
* I believe these changes help the final events of the game flow in a similar tone as the rest of the game. I believe it also strengthens Meredith's own character as her previous journey with the MC serves as growth for succeeding against Norman's deceptive tactics. Meanwhile, the rest of the events still manage to play out as originally planned.
* A few parts of dialogue have been added/expanded during key sections. Both Talia and Norman have a few more lines spoken during different segments to add a little more to these particular moments.
**🛍️ Secret Shop**
* A brand new shop is open in The Underground! Located just to the right of The Underground's subway station, a hidden alleyway contains both a quirky shopkeeper and the rare event items!
* As of v1.0.0, all 3 seasonal events are accessed by a special subway tunnel found in a new southern extension of The Grid. To access these events, you'll need rare cards that are sold in the Secret Shop.
* The Haunted Manor Key also can be purchased here. This is required to access the Abandoned Manor in the Park to access the Ghost event.
**🔁 Meredith Scene Replay**
* Meredith's "Finale" scene can now be replayed.
* After beating the game, bring Meredith to your bedroom or wait for her at your bed at Midnight.
**🔧 Other Adjustments**
* Small bug fixes
* A spoiler option has been added to the Z-Choice menu, spoiling the exact changes between each route for anyone who is still undecided

This update fixes a bug where players were getting softlocked when rescuing 2 women before 3 days had passed. This issue should now be fixed and previously affected saves should be fine! Sorry for the trouble there!
Additionally, some small text and bug fixes were added.
Lastly, the Haunted Manor is now locked behind an event item, the Haunted Manor Key. You can purchase the key for 10z in the new extended section of The Grid. On the south side, there is rubble that Fiona can clear from her workshop. Here, you can purchase special event items to access all 3 season events as well as this key. In the future, this shop will be moved to the Underground as a permanent location to access these special events.

The final showdown is ready to begin. So long as Meredith is willing to go along with the plan! In order to begin the new story events, you will need to have completed the previous story events with Lucy and Misty.
Additionally, you will need to have rescued at least 5 survivors and Meredith must be at a 3-heart relationship. From there, talking to Lucy should progress the new story events naturally.
The Zombie's Retreat 2 storyline is something that I have been working on for several years now. I've grown deeply attached to the Zombie's Retreat story and these characters that have brought life to the game. I hope you enjoy playing through it as well!
== Meredith ==
Meredith is central to this update, being an important character to this main story, but also being the focus of new content.
Along with the main story content, there are new interactions to experience with Meredith if you've already completed her previous story events. Talking with her should naturally progress to these new events.
== Z-Choice ==
The infamous Z-Choice returns in v1.0 of Zombie's Retreat 2! During a certain point in the story, you will be able to make an important choice that will change how certain events happen.
Will you pick the Fate of Lust? A raw and unfiltered story that further explores the motivations of various characters? Or will you choose the Fate of Passion? A more light-hearted telling of events that follows a classic story-telling of events.
Both options are perfectly canon so there is no right or wrong choice.
WARNING: The Fate of Lust contains themes/topics that some viewers may find upsetting or disturbing. If you are concerned about this, choose the Fate of Passion! If you prefer a deeper narrative experience, even if it's not always pleasant, the Fate of Lust is better suited for you.
== Bugs & Savings ==
v1.0 took quite a while to make and is easily my most ambitious update to date. This means the opportunity for hidden bugs and sequence breaks is ripe. Be sure to save often and frequently in separate save slots! I have tried my best to test this update and fix bugs as best as I can, but if there are issues with progression or any sort of softlocks, let me know over on the Discord channel and I will try my best to fix them as soon as reasonably possible.
