Version 0.17 overhauls progression with three meta-perk categories, 16 permanent perks, and a new Run XP system. Players can earn XP through survival, combat, exploration, quests, building the radio, and recruiting companions, unlocking a choice of temporary run perks when leveling up. Run XP converts into Meta XP after death, with double XP awarded for successfully completing a run. The update also expands female NPC encounter scenes.
